Butchery Basics evening

A “hands on” evening aimed at keen cooks or enthusiasts to learn some basic butchery skills including cutting preparing and cooking.

What is included:

  • Introduction to butchery and behind the scenes tour of the shop
  • Brief explanation on meat provenance/husbandry/welfare and grading
  • A demonstration on how to split a pig & Lamb into primal joints
  • A chance to make your own sausages and take them home
  • Basic butchery skills such as how to sharpen a knife and how to tie a butcher’s knot
  • How to prepare some kitchen ready products with cooking tips
  • Refreshments throughout the evening and tasting and Wine to finish
  • Take home a selection of what you have prepared (approximate value £35)

The class will last approximately 3 hours. 6pm-9pm

Course cost £85 per person
Maximum 6 people per evening.
